CPR Certification Course

Saturday, November 1 from 8am- 4pm

There will be a CPR certification course held on Saturday, November 1 from 8am-4pm. This is a full course for those who are not certified. This is not for re-certification.

This CPR certifcation is through The American Heart Association (AHA).

Anyone interested in taking this CPR course please call the school and speak to Ms. Roman at 201-488-9400 ex. 39. You must sign up for this class since there is a limited enrollment.

No one will be permitted to enter at the door unless you enrolled prior to 11/1.




Orientation for Medical Assistant, Business Administration, and Medical Billing & Coding New Starts

Thursday, October 16 at 1:30 PM

Orientation will be held on Thursday, October 16 at 1:30pm for all new day MA, BA, and MBC students starting on 10/20.

This is a mandatory orientation since schedules and books will be given out; in addition to, school policies and procedures will be discussed.

If you can not attend, please call your admissions representative at 201-488-9400. Please, remember to bring in any of your paperwork that may be missing and come early if you need to speak to financial aid.

GRADUATION

Tuesday, October 28, 2008

Graduation will be held on Tuesday evening, October 28, for all day and evening students that successfully completed their programs from May through October.

All graduates will receive a letter from Barbara Fisher inviting them to this event. If you do not receive a letter and feel it was an oversight, please call Ms. Fisher at 201-488-9400 ex. 33. Letters pretaining to this graduation will be going out the beginning of October.

INSURANCE/CODING AND BOOKKEEPING EXAMINATIONS for Day Graduates

Both the Insurance/Coding and Bookkeeping examinations will take place on Tuesday, October 14 at 9:00 AM i Room 204.

All students must be registered prior to taking these examinations. You must see Ms. Lee or Ms. Roman to fill out your applications. These applications must be done at least two weeks prior to the exam date.

On the day of your exam, you will need two forms of identification; one being a photo ID.

Please, be on time since no one will be permitted to enter once the exams are in progress.

RMA EXAM for OCTOBER GRADUATES

The RMA examination for the October graduates will be held on Thursday, October 16 at 9:30 AM in Room 205.

Please, be on time for this examination since no one will be permited to enter once the proctor has distributed the tests. Also, you will need two forms of identification; one being a photo ID.

All students must be registered six weeks prior to taking this exam. If you need to fill out an applicaiton, please see Ms. Roman or Ms. Lee.

Remember, you need to be registered prior to taking this examination.

The Bookkeeping exam will be held on Saturday, October 11 at 9:00 AM for our evening graudates.

PHLEBOTOMY EXAM for Evening Graduates

The Phlebotomy exam will be held on Saturday, October 11 at 9AM for evening graduates. On the day of the examination, please be 15 minutes early. You must bring two proofs of identification; one being a photo I.D.

No one will be permitted to sit for this exam unles you are registered prior to the date. Also, no one will be permitted to enter the testing room once the exam has started. So it is very important, you are on time.

Computer Concepts and Applications Program - new start

On Monday, October 20, a new Computer Concepts and Applications class will be starting.

This is a four month program which teaches all of the Microsoft Office suite software; in addition to, Quickbooks. At the completion of this program, you will sit for your Microsoft Office Specialist certification (MOS).




Bilingual Hispanic Licensed Practical Nursing Program

Day Class- October 20, 2008

The next Bilingual Licensed Practical Nursing program will be starting on Monday, October 20, 2008.

The goal of the Bilingual Hispanic Licensed Practical Nursing program is to prepare Spanish-speaking (ESL-level, English as a Second Language) students to enter the healthcare field as Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs). This program is designed to meet the needs for bilingual nurses to serve the Hispanic population. It is an 18 month program which includes 600 hours of ESL; in addition to, the curriculum and training necessary for graduates to take the NCLEX-PN licensing exam. All instructors are bilingual.

The program includes bilingual instruction in nursing subjects, which will progress from Spanish to English to ensure that students acquire the skills, knowledge and English comprehension necessary to pass the national licensing exam. The ESL program provides the foundation to acqurie and strengthen written and oral English language skills, with a focus on nursing communications. Graduates will be able to document all nursing activities in English.

After completing your Medical Assistant program, students sit for their Phlebotomy certification through NCCT, and their RMA certification through AMT.

Our Medical Billing & Coding students sit for their Medical Insurance Billing certification through NCCT, and our Business students sit for their Bookkeeping certification through NCCT.

These certifications give you the edge in both
today's medical and business fields.

Outsiders can also sit for these certifications as long as you meet the requirements. If you are interested in taking one of the above certifications, please call the school 201-488-9400 and speak with Lee DeMarco or Debbie Roman.










Microsoft Office Specialist Certification (MOS)

Authorized Testing Center

The HoHoKus-Hackensack School is an authorized Testing Center for the Microsoft Office Specialist Certification (MOS) test. If you are interested in becoming certified in Word, Excel, Access,Outlook or PowerPoint, call 201-488-9400 and make an appointment with our technician. The test takes approximately 90 minutes.
