MEDICAL ASSISTANT/PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN WITH OPTIONAL EKG EXTERNSHIP 12-MONTH CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

The objective of the Medical Assisting/Patient Care Technician program is to prepare an individual to enter the medical field in the capacity of medical assistant, medical office manager, medical secretary, patient care technician, pharmacy technician or medical transcriptionist. The student will learn first-hand how to assist in patient care through a combination of academic study and practical experience. Near completion of this program, students are eligible to sit for the following exames: Registered Medical Assistant through AMT (American Medical Technologist) and National Certified Phlebotomy Technician through NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing). The optional one-month EKG externship allows additional career inroads for those whose ultimate goal is EKG technology.
